This was a fantastic winery tour, and we tried some really good wine! It's not possible to explore Italy without trying some of their delicious food and drinks. This was perfect! Wine made by a family in a valley, what more can you need? I highly recommend the tour!
Great wine, great food, and great views! We got a warm welcome from our guide, who showed us around the vineyard and the winery. The tour was very informative, and then we had a tasting. The wines were great, and I ended up buying a bottle for later. Everyone was polite and everything was great, so it was worth the money!

VISIT A VINEYARD & WINERY IN TRAMONTI
Join a guided tour of the most famous winery on the Amalfi Coast - the centuries-old vineyard and a winery in Capitignano! Spend time in the beautiful Italian nature and rest in the shade of chestnut trees. As you walk around, you will stumble upon a great vantage point where you can enjoy views of the Amalfi Coast. Your guide will tell you about Giuseppe Apicella and his wines. This is where Cantine Apicella's products are created. The family has been producing wines since 1977, starting with just 3,000 bottles of Red Tramonti. You can learn how they studied the land and developed new wine aromas and blends. Their vineyards are located between 300 and 600 m above sea level. You will first visit the vineyard, then the cellar, and after that, the winery. There, you will learn how they produce their wines, what the process of fermentation of white and red wines is like, how wines age, and what stabilization means.
ENJOY A WINE TASTING & PRODUCTS FROM THE AREA
Try Apicella wines and other traditional products from Tramonti. Tramonti is a valley whose name comes from the Latin "intra montes", meaning between mountains. Viticulture in Tramonti can be traced to the 10th century, and the plants are grown on pergolas. Try fine wines and products typical of Tramonti - cheese, toasted bread, and cured meats. You can try the Tramonti Rosso A' Scippata from a vineyard planted in 1933, the Tramonti Rosso, with aromas of red fruit, the Tramonti Bianco, with a scent of tropical fruit, the pink Rosato, the Grappa di Tramonti, a grape marcs distillate, and more!

A history of winemaking on the Amalfi Coast
People have been making wine in Campania, the region of Italy where the Amalfi Coast is located, since 800 BCE. People brought grapes from Greece to Campania, which has different types of soil, including volcanic soil from Mount Vesuvius. Apparently, Romans drank three to four liters of wine every day! The Amalfi Coast received the DOC classification in 1995.
